  4th of July, birth of Marie Cézanne, sister of the artist, 55  cours Mirabeau. 
1844
    29th of January, wedding of Louis-Auguste Cézanne and Anne-Elisabeth  Aubert, mother of his children. 
1844-1850
    Paul Cézanne attends primary school in Rue des Epineaux. 
1848
    1st of June, creation of the Cézanne and Cabassol's bank. 
1850-52
  Paul Cézanne is a pupil in the Saint-Joseph boarding school. 
1852-58
  Paul Cézanne, boarder in Bourbon college, befriends Emile Zola  and Baptistin Baille. 
1854
  30th of June, birth of Rose Cézanne, second sister of the  artist, 14 Rue Matheron. 
1857
   Enrolled the municipal school of drawing, which is now the  Granet Museum. 
1858 : February : Zola leaves  Aix for Paris, but returns for the summer holidays.
      July : Cézanne fails the baccalaureat.
      12th of November : he passes and gets his certificate with the  level "assez bien" (good enough).
        From November 1858 to August 1859, he follows the lessons of the  municipal school of drawing assiduously. 
1859
    Paul Cezanne enters the Aix Law faculty. His father buys Jas de  Bouffan. Zola returns to Aix for the holidays.
        From November 1859 to August 1860, Paul Cezanne is still in the  Municipal Drawing School. He obtains second prize for a study on painted  faces. He dreams about becoming a painter. 
1861
    He gives up law studies and goes to Paris where he finds Zola and  meets Pissaro in the Swiss Academy; discouraged he returns to Aix and  starts working in his father's bank while still studying in the Aix  Municipal Drawing School. 
1862
    He leaves his father's bank and goes back to Paris (November). 
1863
    He exhibits in the "Salon des Refusés", and works in the Swiss  Academy where he often meets Pissaro, Guillaumin, Guillemet, and Oller  and reproduces paintings in the Louvre. 
1864 : He fails the Salon and will fail again the following year. He stays in Estaque near Marseille.
1865
   After his year in Paris (where he failed the Salon), he  returns to Aix in the summer where he becomes friends with Valabrègue,  Marion and the German musician Morstatt. 
1866
  In Aix, in the autumn, Cézanne paints a whole series of  pictures with a palette knife (still lifes and portraits). 
1869 
    He meets Hortense Fiquet in the swiss Academy in Paris, and becomes  her companion. 
1870 
    During the French-Prussian war, he takes refuge in Estaque. 
1872
    Birth of Paul, son of the artist and Hortense. 
1874-77
    He participates in the first and the third Impressionnist  exhibition. 
1882
    He is accepted in the Salon for the only time in his career. 
1883
    He meets Monet and Renoir in the south of France. 
1886 
    Following the publication of Zola's works, Cezanne breaks with his  old friend from Bourbon college. He gets married to Hortense (April).  His father dies in October. 
1887
    Cézanne rents a room in the Château Noir in the pistachio producers'  court. 
1895
    From Aix, Cézanne goes to Sainte Victoire and the Bibémus' quarry  where he rents a cottage. Vollard organizes the first individual  exhibition dedicated to Cézanne in his gallery (November). 
1897 
    Cézanne works in Tholonet and in Bibémus' quarry. His mother dies on  the 25th of October. 
1899
    After the sale of Jas de Bouffan, Cézanne does not get the Château  Noir estate. He exhibits his paintings in the Salon des Indépendants and  moves to 23 rue Boulegon. 
1901
    The painter buys land on the "chemin des Lauves" which overlooks Aix  to create his studio. 
1902
    Ambroise Vollard goes to Aix to visit Ceéanne. The painter hears  with sadness the death of Zola. 
1904
  Emile Bernard and Charles Camoin visit Cézanne in Aix. 
1905
  Cézanne exhibits his work in the Salon d'Automne. 
1906
    Cézanne dies in Aix (23th of October) in his flat in the Rue  Boulegon. 
1907
